Barton Springs Pool Master Plan

The goal of the master plan is to return the site to its former glory, where the water was cleaner and the experience of the pool was more enjoyable.  The plan intends to propose appropriate additions and renovations to the swimming pool, its buildings and its grounds that respect the fragility of this unique natural and historical setting and also accommodate the significant user demands on Austin's most popular park amenity.

The Joint Committee focuses solely on the Barton Springs Pool Master Plan and its resulting short-term improvement projects.

 

General Grounds Improvement Project

Aspects of the General Grounds Improvements Project include:

  • Landscaping improvements within the perimeter fence

  • Electrical power upgrades and burying overhead power lines

  • New pump to facilitate pool cleaning and irrigation

  • New perimeter fence

  • Access path from south gate to pool deck

  • "Tree court" landscaping improvements
