The Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) has gathered and assembled the following public comments received regarding a boating concession on Lady Bird Lake located at 101 South First street. Public input was received from two public meetings held during the month of March, email communications via our website, comments cards and survey. This information will be used to formulate options for presentation to PARD oversight Boards beginning in May.

New Concessions
Each year, the department accepts proposals/concepts for new permanent concessions within the park system. View current permanent concessionaires.
Temporary Concessions
Temporary concessions help to enhance park services offered to patrons during peak times of usage throughout the year on parkland. Permits are issued on a request basis. To apply for a permit, complete and submit an application. Only one permit per park is allowed. Permits will not be issued for vending along the hike and bike trail or on the greenbelts. The department will no longer accept food or beverage concessionaire applications for Zilker Park. Commercial Use of Dedicated Parkland
The City of Austin has been experiencing a proliferation of commercial use on dedicated parkland for outdoor activities, such as dog training, paddle boarding, sports classes and similar activities. In response to the growing demand for the commercial use of public parkland, the Parks and Recreation Department is in the process of developing a temporary concession permitting process that will incorporate this type of use into its existing temporary concession permitting process.
Special Event Concessions
With the exception of the Trail of Lights and the Halloween Trick or Treat Trail, all of the larger special events held in parks are rentals. Please contact the event promoter to vend at these special events.
