Let's Move ATX

The Let’s Move campaign, started by First Lady Michelle Obama, has an ambitious national goal of solving the challenge of childhood obesity within a generation, so that healthy children born today will reach adulthood at a healthy weight.

The Let’s Move Cities and Towns campaign has specific criteria for municipalities to meet. Austin will take at least one significant action over the following 12 months in each of the four pillars below:

  • Help parents make healthy fitness choices
  • Create healthy schools
  • Provide access to healthy and affordable food
  • Promote physical activity
