Recycling Adds Up!
This free math-based lesson teaches third graders about recycling. Students will enjoy meeting Miss Joni and her pal, Tina the Puppet, as the two lead students through an engaging, game-show format math game.
Recycling Adds Up! is built around the Austin Independent School District (AISD) math curriculum and has many math-based word problems for students to solve as they learn more about the positive impact that recycling has on the environment.
This lesson provides a great opportunity for students to practice solving math problems found in the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) test which corresponds with the state's curriculum standards called the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
