Topic: Improved Stormwater Controls, Green Infrastructure
This is Part 3 on stormwater ponds for water quality, erosion and flood mitigation.
This meeting will be dedicated to the potential promise and challenges of implementing “Green Infrastructure” types of controls. These are small-scaled, distributed controls designed to mimic natural hydrology and capture, retain, and/or infiltrate water using soil and plant elements. Rain gardens, porous pavement, and rainwater harvesting are examples. Our current code and criteria are geared more towards large-scale “end-of-pipe” controls such as sand filters and wet ponds.
